What's NOT included
Distance Club Online is group coaching only. 1-on-1 services like Form Review ($25-$99), Custom Program Build ($149), 1-on-1 Video Call ($99), and Race Day Plan ($49) are sold separately as pay-per-use services. The subscription gives you weekly group sessions, content library, race-prep group calls, and unlimited PR verifications — it doesn't include personalized 1-on-1 deliverables. Be clear on this before you subscribe.
“
Adult runners get treated like an afterthought by training apps. They're not. They're working people with one shot at their goal race — and they deserve coaching built for their life. Distance Club Online is what I wish I had when I was training around a job.
— Coach J · 2004 U.S. Olympian (800m, 1:44)
What if I'm a beginner runner?
+
If you're brand new to running, the free platform has everything you need to start — an intro distance program, the full drill library, pace calculators, PR tracking. Distance Club Online is for runners who already run consistently and want structured group coaching toward a goal race. Come back when you've built a base.
What's the masters athlete angle?
+
Masters athletes (30+) get age-graded leaderboards (30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+), age-adjusted training adjustments in the workouts, and content that addresses the realities of training in your 40s/50s/60s — recovery, mobility, injury prevention, hormone-aware training cycles. Coach J's wife is a masters runner; we know the audience.
Do you provide a training plan?
+
Distance Club Online
doesn't provide a fully custom training plan — that's a separate service (
Custom Program Build, $149 one-time). What members DO get: weekly synced group workouts (intervals, tempo, threshold), race-prep group calls, plus all 5 of the free-platform distance programs (5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, base building) that you can self-enroll into. Many members combine: subscribe + buy one Custom Program for the season + use Distance Club for ongoing support.
Can I cancel anytime?
+
Yes. Month-to-month, no contracts, cancel anytime from your account settings. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period, then automatically drop back to the free platform. Cancellation is one click — no phone calls, no retention scripts.
How does PR verification work for adult races?
+
Link your Athlinks profile once during onboarding. After each race, your finish times auto-import as Verified marks — 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, ultras. RunSignUp also supported. For unofficial time trials or workout PRs, members get unlimited video verifications from certified coaches (free members get 3/year).
Are sessions live or recorded?
+
Both. The main weekly group session and Q&As are live (Wed 7pm CT). Race-prep calls and long-run audio are pre-recorded. Every live session is recorded and posted to the library within 24 hours — you can watch on your schedule. Many working members watch the replay over their Saturday long run.
What about injury or coming back from one?
+
Common topic in the group. Distance Club content explicitly addresses injury return, masters injury risk, and conservative build-back protocols. For acute injury management, you should still see a physical therapist or sports medicine doc — we coach the running, not the rehab.
Refund policy?
+
If Distance Club Online isn't for you within the first 14 days, contact us for a full refund — no questions asked. After 14 days, you can cancel anytime and you won't be charged again, but past months aren't refundable.
