CRACK THE RECRUITING CODE
How to Get Noticed by College Scouts and Build a Dominant Roster Profile
College recruits are actively hunting for local youth athletes in Carrollton, Plano, and Lewisville who can meet the rigid demands of their rosters. However, the recruitment process is anything but simple. If you are well-versed in the high-stakes athletic world, you know the process relies heavily on hard statistics.
“Recruiters use academic standing and strong character traits to decide between two athletes with identical skills.”
Where to Register Your Athlete
Recruiters build early scout lists using massive online databases during an athlete’s sophomore year. To give your child the upper hand, ensure they are registered on these critical platforms immediately:
⚡ WHAT COLLEGE SCOUTS ACTUALLY WANT
ON-FIELD PERFORMANCE
- Raw Skill: Mastery of sport-specific movement.
- Sports IQ: Quick decision-making under pressure.
- Maturity: How you handle mistakes on the field.
- Competitiveness: Refusing to lose the 50/50 ball.
CHARACTER & DRIVE
- Academics: Meeting NCAA GPA thresholds.
- Work Ethic: First to arrive, last to leave.
- Honesty & Ambition: Being a coachable leader.
- Team Player: Elevating the players around you.
HOW TO GET NOTICED
Scouts sift through hundreds of local profiles. Separate yourself from the noise with these 4 steps:
- Attend local showcase events and camps.
- Ask your current high school coach to reach out directly.
- Proactively email, call, or visit the specific recruiters.
- Consistently send updated game reels and highlight reels.
THE BACKUP PLAN
If you don’t get a D1 offer, setting up meetings with D2 schools or smaller programs is highly recommended. D2 schools still offer great competitive environments and scholarships. If you show massive promise at a D2 level, transferring to a D1 school remains an open door.

JOIN OUR TRAINING CAMPS ⚡SPEED IS NOT OPTIONAL
Why Every Athlete—Regardless of Sport—Needs Speedwork
It is a common misconception that speed is only for Track & Field. At Run Speed Performance, we know that in sports like soccer, football, baseball, and lacrosse, being half a step faster is the difference between a game-winning play and a missed opportunity in Carrollton, TX.
“If two athletes have the same skill level, the faster athlete wins. Period.”
3 Key Training Techniques
We break mastery down into three distinct pillars: Speed Workouts, Form & Technique, and Strength Building.
⚡ THE ELITE COACHING REGIMENT
DAILY: THE FOUNDATION
- A-Skips: Focus on core and vertical foot strike.
- B-Skips: Master the sweep and ground reaction.
- Dynamic Mobility: Keep the body ready for explosive output.
WEEKLY: PEAK POWER
- Flying 60s: Build top-end turnover speed.
- Hill Runs: Maximize the Power & Drive phase.
- Box Jumps: Develop raw explosiveness.
- Speed Endurance: 6-8 x 300m intervals.
THE IRON ROOM
Speed is built in the weight room. Focus on these movements to increase ground force production:
- Squats & Power Cleans
- Hamstring Curls
- DB Push Press
FORM ANALYSIS
Poor technique limits speed and causes injury. We recommend recording every athlete to analyze their biomechanics visually.
